Planning Application Submitted for £100m Buxton Town Centre Regeneration

AshtonHale has supported Capital&Centric in submitting a planning application to High Peak Borough Council for a major £100m regeneration of The Springs shopping centre in Buxton town centre, in a scheme that has been years in the making.

Plans for the site have been in development since High Peak Borough Council purchased The Springs shopping centre for £6.6m in 2022, appointing Capital&Centric to develop proposals shortly afterwards. The scheme would deliver 332 rental homes alongside bars, shops and restaurants, with a more accessible route from the railway station and the opening up of the River Wye riverbanks to create green public spaces and areas for riverside events.

The application follows extensive community consultation and was prepared in collaboration with Stephenson Hamilton Risley Studio, Planit, and others.
