147 New Homes Secured in Oldham

AshtonHale has secured planning permission on behalf of Vistry Group (Manchester & Cheshire East) for 147 homes on land at Southlink in Oldham. Delivered in partnership with First Choice Homes Oldham, the scheme will provide 100% affordable housing through a mix of Social Rent, Rent to Buy and Shared Ownership tenures.


The brownfield site currently comprises a vacant office building, surface car parking and extensive hardstanding, with a disused railway cutting running east–west through its centre. The proposals will regenerate the land with much-needed homes, including specialist residential accommodation, while supporting Oldham’s wider growth ambitions. The comprehensive scheme has been designed in line with best-practice guidance and Oldham Council’s requirements.


The application was considered by the planning committee on 23 September 2026.
